Course Code: TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck
This course has been designed to provide the skills and knowledge required to operate a forklift truck. Pre-Study of a Forklift Learner Guide and completion of questions in an Activity book is to be completed self paced prior to attending your first face to face session. The face to face training and assessment is conducted over two days in a small group of four students per course.
On successful completion of this course students will be issued with;

Prerequisits
Must be 18 years of age or over
Must reside in Victoria
Must provide Drivers Licence or other photo Identification which contains Photo, Date of Birth and Signature. (see ID list over page)
Basic English, literacy and numeracy skills at a level sufficient to read and interpret workplace documentation and carry out basic mathematical calculations.

Standard Forklift Course Structure
Assessment of this unit is done using a mandated assessment tool that consists of:
The assessment must be conducted in English without the use of an interpreter. The outcome of the assessment will be Competent or Not Yet Competent. If you are not yet competent your trainer will develop a revised training plan with you, and you will have an opportunity to re-sit the assessment.

Assessment
Duration – 2 days
Pre-Study – On enrolment you will be supplied with a Learners Guide and Activity Book which MUST be fully completed prior to attending the course.
Day 1 – Revision and further explanation of the knowledge content studied prior to the course and a strong focus on practical driving training.
Day 2 – Brief revision of Knowledge and Practical followed by Assessment.

Additional licensing fee is payable to WorkSafe Victoria via Australia Post within 60 days of assessment.

The TLILIC003 Licence to Operate a Forklift Truck is a nationally recognised forklift training course that provides the skills and knowledge required to legally operate a forklift in Australia. To enrol in the TLILIC0003 Licence to operate a forklift truck, you must meet the following requirements:
• Be at least 18 years old
• Have basic English literacy and numeracy skills (for written and practical assessments)
• Provide photo identification (such as a driver’s licence, passport, or proof of age card)
• Wear closed-toe safety footwear and appropriate work clothing
• Be physically capable of operating a forklift safely
If English is your second language, support options may be available to assist with course completion.
The forklift licence course typically runs over two days, including:
Day 1: Theory training and practical forklift operation practice
Day 2: Theory assessment, practical test, and competency evaluation
Once you pass the assessment, you will receive a Statement of Attainment, which you can use to apply for your WorkSafe Victoria Forklift Licence (LF).
WorkSafe Victoria will then issue your official forklift licence once the application is processed.
